About

Megan Makulski is a BFA dance major at Oakland University with the intention of graduating in 2025. During her time at Oakland, Megan was able to perform as a member of Oakland Dance Theatre, Oakland University’s Repertory Dance Company, and Oakland University’s Dance Team. At Oakland, Megan has worked with numerous choreographers and professional companies such as Lauren Anderson, Teresa Muller, Thayer Jonutz, Elizabeth Riga, Denise Caston, Vim Vigor, Take Root, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, and more. Megan was also selected by Oakland University dance faculty to present her choreography at the American College Dance Association’s regional adjudicated concert alongside her professor's work in February 2024. In July 2024, Megan was given the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica alongside several of her peers and perform at the National University of Costa Rica. Currently, Megan is a student apprentice with Take Root and volunteers with their Dance for Parkinson’s program. 

While pursuing her BFA, Megan has taught and choreographed for several different studios in metro Detroit. She also has completed several certification programs including her grades I and II Cecchetti teacher certification exams, the Basic NGCP level of the Nan Giordano Jazz Certification Program, and module 1 of the Acrobatic Arts certification program. Megan is currently working towards her grade III Cecchetti teacher certification exam. Megan enjoys working with children of all ages in various styles of dance. As a dance teacher, Megan strives to help her students build self-confidence while learning new things.
